Rescheduling of Tonight's Open House

Rescheduling of Tonight's Open House

Dear Justice Page Staff, Families and Community:

We are shocked and saddened by the news of the mass shooting at Annunciation Catholic School in Minneapolis. Our hearts are with those impacted by this tragedy, their families and the entire Annunciation and Minneapolis communities as we grieve together.

To allow our community time to grieve, we are rescheduling our Back-to-School Open House to tomorrow:

Below is our new plan for Thursday evening August 28th:

4:00-5:00pm  All 8th grade families and students report to pick up schedules and walk the building.   Schedule pick-up will be located in the lower gym.

5:00-6:00pm  All 7th grade families and students report to pick up schedules and walk the building. Schedule pick-up will be located in the upper gym.

6:00-7:00pm:  All 6th grade families and students report to pick up schedules and walk the building. Schedule pick-up will be located in the cafeteria.

We are asking that families with children in multiple grades please choose a time assigned to one of your students.  We are also asking that families to the best of their ability stick within the time frame allocated to your students grade level to allow all of our students to have time in the building.

Due to our ongoing construction project at door 2, we are asking families to please enter through door 1 located in the front of the building and door 5 located on 49th street.

Thank you so much for your support and understanding.  Again, our hearts are with our neighbors and families who have been directly impacted by this tragedy.  As always, the safety and security of our students, families and community is our top priority.

Please reach out for support if you need it. Our Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is available to help MPS staff process any emotions they may be feeling.

We know that students and families may also experience anxiety returning to school next week, and we are here to help students who may need support. Please see our Mental Health Support Services website for resources to support students and families who may be grieving. Students are also encouraged to use our HelpMe website or app.

Sincerely,

The Justice Page Administration Team
